The St Radegund is a small Pub located at the end of King St by the four lamps roundabout. For those of you who don’t know Cambridge then the map can be found here. The St Radegund Boat Club was formally ratified in 2001 being initially a ‘bumps only’ crew for 3 years. This was due mainly to the enthusiasm and patience of our original coach and Captain John Whitney. As a measure of our success we have been holders of the John Jenner Trophy for two consecutive years and runners up twice more. St Radegund crews have also “won their blades” in the town bumps on a number of occasions, and the women’s first crew has broken into and held their place in the first division since 2013.
The club currently uses the Corpus/Girton/Sidney/Wolfson Boat House for boat storage and Catz Boathouse for erg sessions, and we have a total of 4 boats on the river, one 4, and three 8s. The serious training takes place of course in the St Radegund Pub after outings.
Currently we have around 40 members and run 4 boat crews, 2 men’s and 2 women’s. As we are a Pub boat club we have no facilities for juniors. We welcome new members, whether experienced or beginners.
